Add Player to Team and Show Earlier Batters Links in Dialogs and Dropdowns

This document provides details on the recently added Add Player to Team and Show Earlier Batters links that are now available in various dialogs and dropdowns. The Add Player to Team function has been added to make it easier, especially in junior cricket, to add players to a team who were not included when the match was setup. Similarly, the Show Earlier Batters function has been added to provide more flexibility, again especially in junior cricket, for allowing previous batters to bat again in the same innings.

Striker and Non-Striker Dropdowns
Both these Play Control dropdowns now include an Add Player to Team and a Show Earlier Batters link at the bottom of the list:

Clicking Add Player to Team opens the usual Add Player dialog to search for an existing player or create a new one to then add them to the team. The usual Auto Correct workflow is triggered, re replacing the Striker/Non-Striker for the innings, and if No is selected the Retired Out/Not Out prompt will appear.

Clicking Show Earlier Batters will add previously dismissed or retired batters to the top of the list, from where they can be selected to become Striker/Non-Striker again, even when an actual Wicket has not just occurred. As above, the usual Auto Correct workflow is triggered, re replacing for the innings and Retired Out/Not Out.

Bowler Dropdown
The Play Control Bowler dropdown now includes the Add Player to Team link, and as above this will open the usual Add Player dialog to search for an existing player or create a new one to then add them to the team. If this is done between overs, the newly added player will automatically become the current Bowler, but if this is done during an over the usual Auto Correct workflow is triggered, re replacing the current Bowler for the entire over or not, i.e.:

Confirm Bowler Dialog
Similarly, the Confirm Bowler dialog also now includes the Add Player to Team link to open the usual Add Player dialog to search for an existing player or create a new one to then add them to the team.

This newly added player will then be the default selected bowler in the prompt, so click OK as usual to confirm them as the current bowler.

Confirm Batter Dialog
As per the new Striker/Non-Striker dropdowns, the Confirm Batter dropdown will now also include the Add Player to Team and (after a wicket or retirement has occurred) Show Earlier Batters links.

Clicking Add Player to Team works as above, opening the Add Player dialog to search for an existing player or create a new one to then add them to the team. This newly added player will then be the default selected batter in the prompt, so click OK as usual to confirm them as the new batter.

Clicking Show Earlier Batters also works as above, adding any previously dismissed batters to the top of the list in grey, and then selected by double-clicking to trigger the usual Additional Innings prompt:

NB: Previously Retired Not Out batters will always show on this list, given they are more likely to return in standard cricket matches.

Confirming an Additional Innings for an earlier batter will add a row to the Scorecard, Scorebook, etc.

Web-Admin Users
For web-admin users, this Show Earlier Batter change means that there is no longer a Can Return option on a Match Type, because this feature is now always available, regardless of Competition rules. Consequently, it is no longer necessary to confirm whether batters can return on specific Match Types.
