Collaborative Scoring and Streaming Using Two Laptops

This guide explains how to set up NV Play Cricket with two laptops—one for scoring and one for streaming. It includes two scenarios depending on whether you want to upload ball clips to the Play-Cricket Match Centre.

Scenario 1: Stream only (no ball clips)

This setup is ideal when the home team has:

  • One scorer
  • One streamer

Use this setup if you only want a live stream with scores on screen and on the Match Centre, but dont need ball clips uploaded.

Laptop Setup

  • Laptop 1 (Scorer): Open the match as a Live Scorer
  • Laptop 2 (Streamer): Open the match as Read Only

Suggested Workflow

  1. On Laptop 1, get ready to score as normal.
  2. On Laptop 2, connect to the video camera feed.
  3. On Laptop 1, go to File > Start Match from Fixture, and open the match as Live Scorer.
  4. On Laptop 2, go to File > Open Match, and open the match as Read Only.
  5. On Laptop 2, click Start Live Stream in NV Play Cricket for Windows. Then go to YouTube Studio and click Go Live.
  6. On Laptop 1, click the Start Play button. Make sure Live > Upload as Live Scorer is ticked. Score the match as usual.
  7. On Laptop 2, monitor the live stream. If the connection is stable, the stream can run unattended.

Scenario 2: Stream and upload ball clips

Use this setup when both people are capable of scoring, and you want to include ball clips in your Match Centre.

This setup requires:

  • One scorer (not handling video)
  • One support scorer/streamer (managing both scoring and video)

Laptop Setup

  • Laptop 1 (Scorer): Open the match as a Live Scorer
  • Laptop 2 (Support Scorer): Open the match as a Support Scorer

Suggested Workflow

  • On Laptop 2, tick Capture/Edit Video
  • On Laptop 2, go to Video > Live Upload and tick this option
  • On Laptop 2, connect the video feed
  • On Laptop 2, click Start Live Stream
  • On Laptop 2, go to YouTube Studio and click Go Live
  • On Laptop 1, the Live Scorer uploads the score to the Match Centre
  • On Laptop 2, the Support Scorer captures and uploads the ball clips
  • On Laptop 2, the Support Scorer's score feed drives the video overlays

Summary

If you want ball clips uploaded to your Match Centre, use Scenario 2. If you want a Live Stream and only need Scores on the Match Centre, use Scenario 1.
