- General software lag or instability
These may be due to Anti-Virus software interfering with your NV Play Cricket for Windows application.

Add to Anti-Virus Exclusions
Some Anti-Virus programs, such as WebRoot, McAfee, and Norton, can mistakenly flag NV Play Cricket as a potential threat, causing disruptions to its functionality.
To ensure smooth performance, we strongly recommend adding NV Play Cricket to your Anti-Virus exclusions list or marking it as a trusted application.
NV Play Cricket has been widely tested with Windows Defender, Microsoft’s built-in Anti-Virus protection, without any issues. However, if you are using third-party Anti-Virus software, additional configuration may be required.
Step 1: Exclude the cricket.exe File
Find the Application Path
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
- Locate NV Play Cricket in the list (expand the Cricket entry if needed).
- Right-click the application and select "Open file location".
- Copy the file path to cricket.exe.
- Add this path to your Anti-Virus exclusions list.
If "Open file location" is not enabled:
- Ensure "More details" is selected in Task Manager.
- Expand NV Play PCS and try again.
Step 2: Exclude Key Folders
To prevent Anti-Virus interference, exclude the following folders and all subfolders:
Standard Installation Folder (for All Users):
- C:\Program Files (x86)\NV Play\
This folder includes the desktop application, local database, and Media Components.
Current User Installation Folder (If installed for a single user instead of all users):
- %localappdata%\Programs\NV Play\
Temporary and Local Data Folders:
- %localappdata%\Temp\nvplay\
- %localappdata%\NV_Play\
Match Folder (Default or Custom Location):
- <path to Documents folder>\Cricket Matches\
- If a custom Match Folder is set, exclude the configured location in: Tools > Configuration > General > Match Folder.
Additional Folder for McAfee Users:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\NV Play\Media Components\x64\youtube-dl.exe
This helps ensure live streaming score overlays display correctly.
Step 3: Notify Support and Update
Notify your IT Support team of any security software changes you have made.
If you disable third-party Anti-Virus protection (e.g., McAfee, Norton, or WebRoot), ensure:
- Windows Defender is running and up to date.
- Windows Updates are regularly installed.
