Coding fielding data in the app
The Pitchside Analytics app syncs fielding data (field settings, positions, and events) with the scoring data (batters, bowler, runs, and extras) from the primary analyst in NV Play Cricket for Windows (that is, with the data in the desktop software's Detailed Fielding panel).
Positioning fielders
- Move each fielder's dot on the pitch map into position for the first ball.
- Adjust only when field positions change (Bowler and Wicketkeeper dots do not move).
- The selected fielder's position will automatically highlight in the list of fielding positions.
Recording fielding actions
- Tap the fielder who fielded the ball.
- Adjust their fielding position if necessary.
- Select the appropriate fielding event (right-hand side of the screen).
- Once the first event is added, the fielder, position, and event will appear for that delivery.
- Add as many fielding events as needed, then tap Save Ball.
- If multiple fielders were involved, select the second fielder and repeat steps 2–5.
Each fielder's position and events are colour-coded for clarity:
Editing fielding data
- Tap a previous ball in the list at the top to edit.
- Tap a fielding event to add or delete it.
- To adjust fielding positions, tap the position list and make necessary changes.
- If multiple fielders were involved in a ball, the current fielder will be underlined. Tap another fielder's name to switch editing focus.
