Changing Upload Speed When Streaming or Broadcasting

This guide is intended for users (typically video analysts) of the Live Upload feature (Video > Live Upload) during a match while also live streaming or broadcasting video to a separate live streaming machine.

If your computer's performance is negatively affected while using these network features, your upload speed should be lowered.

Adjusting Upload Speed

To adjust your upload speed:

  1. Go to Tools > Configuration. The Configuration dialogue opens.
  2. Click the Clipping tab.
  3. Tick the Limit background upload speed when streaming or broadcasting video checkbox in the Performance Options section. This setting defaults to Medium (1 Mbps).

To reduce upload speed:

  1. Select the Slow (500 Kbps) radio button.
  2. Click OK to save and close.

To increase upload speed:

  1. If the network connection is fast and consistent, and computer performance is unaffected, select Fast (2 Mbps).
  2. Click OK to save and close. If you encounter any performance issues after increasing your upload speed, revert back to Medium (1 Mbps).

Monitoring Upload Speed Changes

  • If upload speed is set to Slow or Fast, video filenames will be italicised on the Status Bar during uploads.
  • This speed setting persists after closing and reopening NV Play Cricket. We recommend that you reset the setting to Medium (1 Mbps) or untick the checkbox before the next match if adjustments were made.
