Bring your live stream to life with broadcast-style Vision AI replays. Show viewers the ball's path, where it pitched and how fast it was bowled, moments after the delivery. You can play replays straight from the Streaming Overlay Control panel, build a custom package in Video Package Manager (VPM) and show it when the moment is right, or play a package directly from VPM.

Vision AI replays and graphics require the Vision AI Media licence to be enabled on your NV Play Cricket account.

Replays played from the Vision AI section of the Streaming Overlay Control panel use the standard Vision AI graphics. To choose which graphics appear, such as the pitch map style, ball tracking or measurements, create a package in VPM.

When creating your own package, saving a VPM video and showing it from the Streaming Overlay Control panel is the recommended method. It lets you choose the best moment to insert the replay into the stream. Playing directly from VPM takes time to load, so the replay does not start instantly.

Playing Vision AI replays from the Streaming Overlay Control panel

The Vision AI section of the Streaming Overlay Control panel has four replay options:

  • Last Ball: plays the most recent delivery at normal speed.
  • Last Ball (Slow-mo): plays the most recent delivery in slow motion.
  • Selected Ball: plays the delivery selected in the Ball by Ball panel at normal speed.
  • Selected Ball (Slow-mo): plays the delivery selected in the Ball by Ball panel in slow motion.
  1. Go to View > Video > Streaming Overlay Control.
  2. To play a specific delivery, select it in the Ball by Ball panel.
  3. In the Vision AI section, click the replay option you want to play into the live stream.

A replay option is disabled when Vision AI has calculated the delivery as Low Confidence.

Playing a VPM package from the Streaming Overlay Control panel (recommended)

  1. In Video Package Manager, create a package with one or more ball clips or multi-ball trajectories.
  2. Set the Vision AI graphics options for each clip. See Vision AI graphics options in Video Package Manager below.
  3. Open the Create Package drop-down and select Save Video (1080p).
  4. Go to View > Video > Streaming Overlay Control.
  5. Click the settings cog and select Refresh Media Library Lists so your new video appears in the list.
  6. Select your video from the Video drop-down.
  7. When you are ready to insert it into the live stream, click Show.

New videos do not appear in the Video drop-down until you refresh the list. Select Refresh Media Library Lists each time you save a new video.

Playing a VPM package directly into the live stream

  1. In Video Package Manager, create a package with one or more ball clips or multi-ball trajectories.
  2. Set the Vision AI graphics options for each clip. See Vision AI graphics options in Video Package Manager below.
  3. Open the Create Package drop-down and select Play into Live Stream.

The package takes time to load before it plays, so it is not inserted into the stream instantly. To control exactly when a replay appears, save the video and show it from the Streaming Overlay Control panel instead.

Vision AI graphics options in Video Package Manager

These options are only available when you play replays through a VPM package. They are not available from the Vision AI section of the Streaming Overlay Control panel.

  • Pitch Map:
    • Off: shows a grey wicket strip only. Use it to show where the ball pitched and whether it was in line, without the coloured pitch map.
    • Simple: shows three length zones.
    • Advanced: shows five length zones.
  • Ball Tracking:
    • Off: no trajectory.
    • On: shows the trajectory in red.
    • On with After Impact: shows the trajectory in red, with tracking off the bat or body in yellow.
  • Ghost: draws a transparent white line underneath the ball tracking, showing where the ball would have gone without its movement. Only available when Ball Tracking is on.
    • Off: no ghost.
    • No Swing: leaves from the same release point but flies straight, then behaves as the real ball did off the pitch. Use it to show swing.
    • No Deviation: follows the real flight up to the pitch, then carries straight on. Use it to show seam movement or spin.
    • No Movement: removes both swing and deviation, as if nothing moved the ball.
  • Show Predicted Path: when ticked, shows the path the ball is calculated to have taken from impact to past the stumps.
  • Show Measurements: when ticked, shows a box with all Vision AI measurements for the delivery.
  • Show Low Confidence Ball Tracking: when ticked, shows trajectories that Vision AI has calculated as Low Confidence. This option is off by default.

VPM Vision AI graphics options

You can set a default for every option above in Default Clip Options in Video Package Manager, or go to Video > Video Package > Generate Highlights Package. Defaults only apply to new packages, so start a new package after changing a default.

Low Confidence trajectories may be inaccurate. If you turn on Show Low Confidence Ball Tracking, review each clip before playing it into your live stream.

For more on Ghost Tracking, see: Vision AI Graphical Tools.

For Release Point, Ball Pitch and Beehive graphics, see: Adding Pitch Map, Ball Arrival and Release Point visualisations to Video Package Manager.

If you stream using NDI with an Alpha Channel, replays and video files you insert are displayed on the Alpha Channel, so they can be mixed downstream.
