If your team has an official corporate sponsor, you can add their company or organisation logo as a watermark to your match footage. The watermark image will appear on-screen in the top-left corner of your live streams, and in any video highlights packages you create.
There are two ways to add a sponsor watermark in the NV Play Cricket for Windows software:
- In your live stream configuration: Here you can set a permanent watermark image (Tools > Configuration > Live Streaming). Once set, this watermark image will be shown in all future streams until changed or removed (or manually hidden).
- In your Video Display overlay settings: You can also add a temporary watermark image to be used only for the current match. This image is used only if there is no default image set in your live streaming configuration settings.
Preparing a Sponsor Watermark File
Ideally, the image file you use for your sponsor should be:
- A PNG format with a transparent background.
- Landscape-oriented (that is, wide rather than tall; for example, 360 pixels wide by 90 pixels high).
- Under 1 MB in size.
Watermark images are scaled relative to an aspect ratio of 16:9 (for example 1080p at 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high) and sized to a fixed height of 90px. Wide watermarks will therefore look larger and tall/narrow watermarks will look smaller. We recommend wider watermarks with transparent backgrounds and minimal text for maximum readability.
Adding a Permanent Watermark
To add a watermark image in your live stream configuration settings:
- Go to Tools > Configuration. The Configuration dialogue opens.
- Click the Live Streaming tab.
- Click the More Settings link in the Live Stream Configuration section. The Live Stream Configuration dialogue opens.
- Click the Browse button in the Overlay and Watermark Settings section. Browse to the watermark image and click Open.
- Check that the Show Watermark box in the Live Stream Configuration section is ticked.
- Click OK on the Live Streaming Configuration dialogue, and then OK on the Configuration dialogue. The watermark change is applied instantly in the top-left corner of the stream, even if the stream is live at the time. This watermark will appear in all future streams until you replace it, remove it, or disable watermarks by unticking the Show Watermark box.
Setting a Temporary Watermark
To set a temporary watermark image that will only be applied to the current match:
- Click the Settings cog on the Video Display panel and select Overlay Settings. The Overlay Settings dialogue opens.
- Click the Browse button in the Branding section. The Select Custom Logo File dialogue opens. Browse to the watermark image and click Open.
- Click Save. The watermark image is applied instantly to the stream, even if the stream is live at the time.
If, after setting a custom logo in the Overlay Settings dialogue, a different watermark image continues to appear in the top-left corner of the stream, it's likely that there is also a watermark logo configured in your live stream configuration. This setting will override your Overlay Settings configuration.
To remove the other watermark, go to Tools > Configuration > Live Streaming. Click the More Settings link in the Live Stream Configuration section. Clear any text in the Custom Watermark field and then save and close.
If no watermark is showing in the top-left corner of your stream, or on the Video Display panel, go to Tools > Configuration > Live Streaming. Click the More Settings link in the Live Stream Configuration section and make sure the Show Watermarks box is ticked.
