Multi-Camera Setup and Streaming for NV Play Cricket

This guide explains how to set up a Multi-Camera system using up to four cameras, and how to use them for Multi-Capture Video Analysis and Live Streaming, in NV Play Cricket for Windows.

As with single camera configuration, use the following dialogue box to add camera inputs: Tools > Configuration > Video Capture > Video Capture Devices > Add new Capture Device:

Configuring Audio Settings

To configure audio settings for your camera input:

  1. Open the Multi-Cam Audio Settings dialogue box by navigating to: Tools > Configuration > Video Capture > Video Capture Devices > Audio Settings.
  2. Apply your audio settings:
    • Use Primary Input for all Audio: This option uses the first camera's audio across all inputs.

Configuring Video Settings

  1. Open the Multi-Cam Video Settings dialogue box by navigating to: Tools > Configuration > Video Capture > Video Capture Devices > Video Settings.
  2. Configure settings for each camera:
    • Label: Assign a name to each camera for easy identification.
    • Pitch End: Assign End Cameras for automated switching.
    • Capture: Enable continuous capture and ball clipping.
    • Instant Replays: Enable this feature for live streaming replays.
    • Automatically Switch Cameras at the End of Each Over: Enable automatic switching between end cameras at the end of each over (disabled by default).

The Video Display window will update with all camera inputs and the Input/Label buttons beneath. These can then be used to control the 'switched' camera feed in the Video Display

Viewing Multi-Camera Feeds

To view all camera inputs simultaneously:

  • Open View > Video > Multi-Cam Video Display.
  • The ‘switched’ camera feed is highlighted in yellow.
  • Thumbnails of each camera can be used to control the switched feed.

Managing Capture and Replay Settings

  • If a camera input does not have Capture enabled, an Enable Capture button will appear at the bottom-right. Clicking this will reopen the Multi-Cam Video Settings dialogue box.
  • If a live stream is running but a camera input does not have Instant Replays enabled, an Enable Replays button will appear. Clicking this will reopen the Multi-Cam Video Settings dialogue box.

Once Instant Replays are enabled, camera inputs will show a Last Ball button with the following replay options:

  • Last Ball
  • Last Ball (Slow-Mo)
  • Instant Replay
  • Instant Replay (Slow-Mo)

The selected replay option will be triggered into the live stream. If time permits between balls or overs, multiple Last Ball replays from different angles can be shown:

Recording Continuous Video

To begin recording continuous video:

  1. Click Start Live Capture.
  2. Auto Capture or manual ball clipping will record up to four clips per ball (one per enabled camera input).
  3. Only the ‘switched’ ball clip is encoded and uploaded to minimise CPU load.

The ‘switched’ Continuous Video is displayed in the Video Timeline, with recorded ball clips appearing as usual. Additional Continuous Videos from other camera inputs can be selected via the camera input dropdown next to the Continuous Video dropdown.

Scrubbing and Synchronisation

  • If a ball clip on the 'switched' Continuous Video is scrubbed during recording, corresponding ball clips on the other Continuous Videos will also be scrubbed to match.
  • After recording, scrubbing any ball clip will synchronise the corresponding clips across all Continuous Videos.

In a Multi-Camera setup, the Video Player includes thumbnails of Multi-Angle Clips at the top-right. Clicking a thumbnail allows playback of the corresponding angle:

Ball clips can still be accessed from the same locations, e.g., Ball by Ball, Video Ball by Ball, Scorecard, Match Stats Wizard, etc. All other Video Player features also remain unchanged, e.g., Stop, Play/Pause, Frame by Frame, Mute, Full Screen (with arrow key controls), Drawing Tools, Add to Package, Save Clip, and so on.

Monitoring Hardware Load

Using a Multi-Camera setup significantly increases hardware demands. Ensure that your system meets the minimum recommended specifications for Premium Video Capture, Premium Live Streaming, and Multi-Camera Inputs (as specified under the Analysis 4 x Video Inputs section in System and Hardware Requirements).

While using Multi-Capture, monitor your system's performance metrics:

  • Open View > Video > Live Video Statistics
  • Ensure performance indicators remain black (healthy) rather than red (unhealthy)
