Recommended Settings for Hikvision IP Cameras

This guide outlines the recommended configuration settings for the Hikvision DS-2DE4425IW-DE camera, provided with the NV Play Club Elite, Specialist, and Elite hardware kits. These settings are based on extensive testing and aim to optimise video quality and streaming performance.

Apply these settings via the camera's web portal by entering the camera’s IP address into a web browser on your desktop computer or laptop. Ensure the camera is set up and connected before proceeding.

Recommended Quality Profiles

We recommend beginning with the High Quality profile. This provides excellent video quality while maintaining a reasonable bandwidth requirement. The Medium Quality profile should be used as a fallback option if bandwidth constraints are identified.

General Recommendations

We recommend using the following settings as a baseline:

  • Set the Video Encoding to H.265 instead of H.264 to reduce data usage without compromising quality.
  • Set the Bit Rate Type to Constant for consistent stream performance.

Streaming Resolution and Bitrate

For your first match, we recommend setting the video resolution to 720p. If your first match stream is stable and smooth, consider increasing to 1080p for future matches.

To configure your stream resolution in NV Play Cricket for Windows:

  1. Go to Tools > Configuration. The Configuration dialogue opens.
  2. Click the Video Live Streaming tab.
  3. Open the Resolution dropdown in the Live Stream Configuration section and select a video resolution of 720p or 1080p.
  4. Click OK.

PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) Settings

For cameras mounted on a tripod at ground level, you should adjust the camera settings to allow greater upward tilt:

  1. Configuration > PTZ > Basic Settings > Max. Tilt-angle. Set to: (-15 – 90).

This allows the camera to tilt upward from the horizontal and gives more flexibility in framing players and action above the pitch.

Image Display Settings

We recommend the following settings under:

  1. Configuration > Image > Display Settings.
    • Scene Mode: Outdoor
    • Exposure Settings > Max Shutter Limit: 1/50
    • Image Enhancement > Digital Noise Reduction: Set to EXPERT

These adjustments improve image clarity and reduce motion blur in outdoor, fast-paced cricket environments.
