Update Windows and Device Drivers
- Regularly check for, and install, Windows updates. If configuring automated updates, schedule them outside match days.
- Install relevant device driver updates, particularly for video capture devices and printers. Use manufacturer-provided drivers (especially for Display Adapters), as Windows Updates may not always include the latest versions.
Optimise Anti-Virus Settings
If the NV Play Cricket software runs slowly or has video issues, check if your Anti-Virus software is interfering. If it is, add the software to its exceptions list: Adding NV Play Cricket for Windows to Anti-Virus Exclusions.
Manage Storage for Video Recording
If recording ball clips or continuous video, ensure there is sufficient storage capacity available (HDD/SSD) before starting a match.
Before deleting old videos, make sure they have been exported. If needed, export matches with video:
- File > Export Match(es) (to an external hard drive)
- Later re-import using File > Import Match(es)
Delete unnecessary files to free up space and maintain performance.
Synchronise the Local Database
Regularly sync the NV Play Cricket software's local database with the cloud server to update data for:
- Organisations
- Teams
- Players
- Venues
- Officials
- Match Types
- Competitions and Fixtures
Syncing takes only a few seconds:
- Click File > New Match, File > Start Match from Fixture, or Tools > Edit Database.
- Select Yes when prompted for Server Changes.
Full Server Sync (if needed)
If you are unsure whether the local database is fully synced, or if NV Play instructs you to perform a full sync:
- Go to Tools > Edit Database.
- If prompted, click Not Now.
- From the Check for Server Updates dropdown (bottom left), select Force Full Server Sync.
- Wait approximately 30 seconds, then click Close.
