Can I stream from the Mobile Scoring App?
No, it’s not possible to stream directly from the Mobile Scoring App. However, you can connect to the match in the Desktop App as a Read Only user and stream the match from there.
Why is my stream stuttering/buffering?
See the following guide: What to do when your internet is inconsistent.
Why aren't my clips in the Match Centre?
Check that the following settings are ticked under the Video menu in NV Play Cricket:
-
Capture/Edit Video
- Auto Capture (unless using manual clipping)
-
Live Upload
Also confirm that the Auto Capture settings under Tools > Configuration > Video Capture are configured correctly. This ensures that clips are being saved to your computer for upload.
If you don't want to upload clips during a match (e.g. due to poor internet), untick Live Upload and use Video > Upload Video Now after the match.
If clips are still not appearing, open the match and use Video > Upload Video Now to manually upload and publish clips to the Match Centre.
If the problem persists after completing these steps, use Help > Report an Issue (Live Streaming) to send us diagnostics and request support.
Why isn't the opposition's logo showing?
If only team names are appearing (instead of logos), go to Scoring > Match Details/Teams, click Edit, and then click Replace in the Team Logo section.
This change can be made during a match and does not require the stream to be stopped.
We recommend you keep a library of opposition team logos saved and ready for use on your computer.
Ball clips aren't saving to the set folder
Check the following:
- Go to Tools > Configuration > General > Match Folder and ensure it's set to a valid local path, such as: C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Cricket Matches
- Avoid setting the match folder to a OneDrive location.
- Ensure your computer has sufficient available disk space.
- When both Capture/Edit Video and Auto Capture are enabled, the Video Display panel shows a blue border and a tooltip will appear when you hover over it.
- When a ball is scored, a small disc icon should flash in the status bar, followed by "Creating Web/X_XXX_X" as the clip is encoded.
- In the Ball by Ball panel, check the Video column for each ball's clip duration: 17 seconds for normal balls, 37 seconds for wickets.
If these steps don't correspond with what you see in your software, use Help > Report an Issue (Live Streaming) to contact support, and to describe the behaviour you are seeing.

How do I capture key moments?
To capture key moments during a match:
-
Click the Key Moment button on the Play Control panel during the match.
- Enter a description and click OK. The add to previous ball and add to highlights options are ticked by default.
- Later, use the Video > Video Packages > Generate Highlights Package option and tick Key Moments to include these clips.
How much data does live streaming use?
In terms of total data used, our estimate is:
- 1080p: ~2 GB per hour
- 720p: ~1.25 GB per hour
Examples:
- A 50-over match at 1080p: ~16 GB
- A T20 match at 720p: ~3.75 GB
A recent match with 72 overs of play over six hours and streamed at 1080p consumed 15 GB of data.
However, upload speed is a much more important metric for ensuring good streaming quality. A stable 8 Mbps is ideal, although you might manage with 5–8 Mbps. Use speedtest.net to test upload speeds at your venue.
Should I stop both streams or just one?
Best practice is to stop both:
- Click Stop Live Streaming in NV Play Cricket.
- Click End Stream in YouTube Studio.
You can enable the Auto-End option in YouTube, but we recommend leaving it off to retain control in case of issues.
If you forget to stop the stream in YouTube, it may continue for up to 30 minutes with a black screen until YouTube detects inactivity.
How are H.264 and H.265 different?
See this article for details: H.265 vs. H.264 – What’s the difference?
Why is my audio out of sync?
This can happen when your computer or internet connection is under strain.
Try the following:
- Go to Video Display > Reconnect to IP Camera.
- Restart the stream during a break (e.g. innings break).
- Ensure your graphics drivers and Windows updates are up to date.
Advanced settings (test one at a time):
-
Tick Use Low Delay Buffer under Tools > Configuration > Video Capture > Settings > Show Advanced Settings. This option is only available for IP cameras.
-
Try adjusting the External Audio Delay (e.g. 900ms), though this requires trial and error and is not recommended during matches.
Do two streams use twice the data?
Yes. They also require double the bandwidth, as the same stream is sent to two platforms (for example, to both Facebook and YouTube).
What is the "Auto with Cards" slide order?
The slide order of the "Auto with Cards" stream overlay is:
- Batting
- Manhattan
- Bowling
- Worm
- Partnerships
- Run Rate
