Q: Our Stream is stuttering / buffering

Please see the following article: https://support.nvplay.com/hc/en-gb/articles/29219549649561-What-to-do-when-your-Internet-is-inconsistent

Q: Our Ball Clips aren't uploading to the Match Centre?

It's possible that the Video -> Live Upload setting has been unticked.

For ball clip videos to appear on the scorecard, the following under the Video option need to be ticked:

• Capture/Edit Video
• Auto Capture (unless using manual ball clipping)
• Live Upload

As long as the Auto Capture settings in Tools -> Configuration -> Video Capture are appropriately ticked and therefore saving ball clips to your device these should be able to be uploaded to the Match Centre.

If you don't want to upload the ball clips during the match, if you're having internet issues for example, you can untick Live Upload and instead use the Upload Video Now option post-match.

So to publish video after a match, open the match and use the Video -> Upload Video Now and once uploaded the ball clips should publish on the Match Centre.

If you are scoring again and notice the ball clips aren't being uploaded as expected please use PCS Pro's Help -> Report an Issue (Live Streaming) to send us computer Diagnostics at the time, but the above steps should help.

Please let us know if the Upload Video Now option works and thus adds the clips to the Match Centre as expected.

Q: My ball clips aren't saving to my desired folder on my computer?

Please check that:

• That the Tools -> Configuration -> General -> Match Folder -> Folder setting is set to C:\Users*username*\Documents\Cricket Matches, and if not please use the Browse button to reset it to this folder
• If the Match Folder is currently set to a OneDrive location, this is likely the cause of ball clips not recording, so reset this as above, but please also check the amount of available disk space on your machine
• When testing with both Video -> Capture/Edit Video and Auto Capture ticked/enabled, the Video Display window will have a blue border and hovering over it with the mouse will popup an Auto Capturing tooltip
• When scoring a ball that should be captured, a small disc icon will briefly appear in the Video Sync Status space, then this will change to Creating Web/X_XXX_X as the ball clips is encoded
• Check the Ball by Ball -> Video column for the duration (in black) of each ball clips; 17s for normal deliveries (including 4s & 6s) and 37s seconds for wickets
• If this process/sequence is not what happens for you, please include under Help -> Report an Issue (Live Streaming) what does happen at your end, as this will help us investigate alongside your computer Diagnostics

Q. How do we embed our YouTube stream onto the Match Centre?

A: We're assuming you're referring to the YouTube embed on your Play-Cricket Match Centre: https://stalbans.play-cricket.com/website/results/5662243 , shown below?

1.png

If so, the easiest way to embed the video is to open the video on YouTube and then right-click on the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7etdQ0f9DKQ  and click on the 'Copy Embed Code':

3.png

The embed code for this game will show as:

<iframe width="860" height="487" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7etdQ0f9DKQ" title="St Albans Cricket Club 1XI v Shenley Village (from 12h45)" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Now, back in PCS Pro navigate to the Live option in the menu bar:

Click Add Live Stream option to Match Centre and paste the Embed Code into the dialogue box:

This video here shows the process in detail: https://youtu.be/HbKyF9ZFk8w .

Q: Our YouTube embed isn't showing on the Match Centre.

A: This error is most likely because Embedding was not enabled on your You Tube Event.

To check this, re-open the Event in You Tube Studio, click Edit, and scroll down to this part of the dialog and check the Allow Embedding flag, which was probably unticked:

1.png

Ensure that this is ticked for future You Tube Events and it should work as expected.

However, please note that if your You Tube account is relatively new, it is likely that it does not yet support embedding, which is a You Tube restriction. Thus, if the error persists (or you can’t see the above flag), tick the My YouTube Channel does not support Embedding checkbox before clicking Save:

2.png

This will add a YouTube tile (instead of the error message) at the top of the Play-Cricket Match Centre that links off you the live stream on You Tube.

It sounds like the Tools -> Configuration -> Live Streaming -> More Settings -> Show Watermarks checkbox has been unticked/disabled.

Q: My Sponsor's Watermark isn't showing on the Live Stream?

It sounds like the Tools -> Configuration -> Live Streaming -> More Settings -> Show Watermarks checkbox has been unticked/disabled, i.e.:

3.png

Re-enabling this will then publish the watermarks (custom logo at top-left, NV Play logo at top-right).

Q. Can we capture a Key Moment while Streaming or Scoring?

Yes, you can use the Key Moment button:

4.png

The Checkbox to add to previous ball is ticked by default, as is the one for it to be a highlight, enter some text and click OK…

Then generate Highlights Package, tick the Key Moments checkbox, and any others, and that ball was included in the package video timeline sequence.

Q. How much data does a live stream use?

A: The most important figure is an Upload Speed of 8mbps. You may be able to stream with speeds of between 5-8 but it may be difficult. We’d recommend using speedtest.net  at your club on a Saturday afternoon, more than once, to gauge what Upload Speeds you can get.

In terms of data consumption, we estimate streaming at 1080 uses roughly 2GB per hour of data. If the streaming output is 720 it is closer to 1.25GB per hour. So, a 50 over match streamed at 1080 over 8 hours could be about 16GB. A 20 over match streamed at 720 over 3 hours could be about 3.75GB.

A recently streamed match with 72 overs of play across roughly six hours, streamed at 1080p, had a total data consumption of 15GB.

Q: Do we need to stop our stream on YouTube and PCS Pro?

A: Best Practice is to click Stop Live Streaming in PCS Pro AND Click End Stream in YouTube when the match ends. You can tick Auto-End Match in YouTube when scheduling streams so that when the Stop Live Streaming is clicked in PCS Pro it will automatically end the stream in YouTube. This is slightly fraught with danger if case anything goes wrong so leaving Auto-End off is our preferred option.

If you click Stop Live Streaming in PCS Pro but don’t end it in YouTube the stream will continue on YouTube with generally a black screen and then YouTube usually recognises there’s no action and stops the stream, but this can take 30 minutes, so it’s best, if you can remember, just to click Stop Live Streaming in PCS Pro and click END Stream in YouTube.

Q: What's the difference between H.264 and H.265 encoding?

Please see the following link for more information: https://www.yololiv.com/blog/h265-vs-h264-whats-the-difference-which-is-better/

Q: Audio is out of sync with Video?

Sometimes, audio can slip out of sync with the video due to the laptop and/or internet struggling to process the demand for video and audio outputs.

We recommend using Video Display -> Reconnect to IP Camera if PCS Pro is struggling at close and restart at a break such as the mid-innings break.

There are a couple of advanced settings we can change but generally prefer to look at the above fixes first of all.

The first advanced changed that can be considered is:

Ticking 'Use Low Delay Buffer':

5.png

The other option is to use the External Audio Delay.

6.png

We have had one user who set the External Audio Delay to 900ms, but this is tricky as it does require a bit of trial and error, which people probably don't want to do in the match environment.

If you feel the first few tips (Graphic Drivers, Internet Connectivity and a Software Restart/Reconnection) have been covered, then please only attempt one of the Advanced Settings changes per match - it would probably make sense to change to tick the Use Low Delay Buffer first, evaluate and then next weekend untick it and attempt the External Audio Delay option and evaluate this.

Q: Does Live Streaming to both Facebook and YouTube use the same amount of bandwidth as live streaming to just one?

A: It’s double (2x) the bandwidth as it’s sending the same output to two locations.

Q: What order do the Cards used with Auto with Cards play?

A: The order is Batting, Manhattan, Bowling, Worm, Partnerships, Run Rate.
