To resolve SQL-related issues, follow these steps:
- Restart the local SQL database
- Recreate the local SQL database
- Delete the local SQL database
- Uninstall and reinstall the software

1. Restart the local SQL database
If you experience a crash with an SQL-related error message, follow these steps:
- Restart your computer.
- Open the Windows Command Prompt by typing cmd into the Windows search field and then pressing Enter.
- Paste the following commands individually within the window that opens, pressing Enter after each:
- sqllocaldb stop MSSQLLocalDB
- sqllocaldb start MSSQLLocalDB
- Reopen NV Play Cricket and check if the issue is resolved.
2. Recreate the local SQL database
If the issue persists:
- Open the Windows Command Prompt by typing cmd into the Windows search field and then pressing Enter.
- Run the following commands one at a time in the window that opens, pressing Enter after each:
- sqlLocalDB delete MSSQLLocalDB
- sqlLocalDB create MSSQLLocalDB
- sqllocaldb start MSSQLLocalDB
- Reopen NV Play Cricket and check if the issue is resolved.
3. Delete the local SQL database
If the issue is still unresolved, delete the local SQL database:
- Close the NV Play Cricket application.
- Open Windows Explorer (Windows/Start+ E) and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\NV Play\Cricket\Database.
- Delete the Database folder and its contents.
- Reopen NV Play Cricket and sign in.
- If prompted, accept the sync with the server.
4. Uninstall and reinstall the software
If the problem continues:
- Delete the local SQL database as described in Step 3.
- Uninstall the NV Play Cricket for Windows software:
- Right-click on the Windows/Start Menu button.
- Select Apps and Features.
- Use the Search apps box to find NV Play Cricket.
- Select the software, then click Uninstall and confirm.
- Reinstall the application:
- For NV Play Cricket for Windows, download and install from: NV Play Setup
- For Play-Cricket Scorer Pro, download and install from: Play-Cricket Setup

If the issue persists after reinstalling, send your SQL error log file to support for further investigation:
- Open Windows Explorer (Windows/Start+ E) and navigate to %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\Instances\mssqllocaldb\error.log.
- Email the error.log file to support@nvplay.com or, for Pro-Cricket Scorer Pro users, play.cricket@ecb.co.uk.
