Live Streaming Overlay Issue – OneDrive Syncing Conflict

We are aware of an issue preventing Live Streaming overlays from displaying within the NV Play Cricket for Windows software, even when all software settings are correctly configured.

In June 2022, we identified that this issue is caused by OneDrive syncing, which overwrites the video/live streaming configuration files in the default C:\Documents\Cricket Matches folder. As a result, the overlays fail to display.

We are actively working on a permanent fix, which is scheduled for release:

  • End of June 2022 for Play-Cricket Scorer Pro
  • TBC for other NV Play Cricket platforms

Temporary Fix – Changing the Match Folder Location

Until the fix is deployed, users who:

  • Have OneDrive syncing enabled
  • Have NV Play Cricket for Windows software's Match Folder set to: C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Cricket Matches (a OneDrive-synced location)

Should move their Match Folder to a non-OneDrive synced location by following these steps:

1. Move the Cricket Matches Folder

  1. Create a new folder on your computer at C:\Cricket Matches.
  2. Copy or move the content of the C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Cricket Matches folder to your new non-OneDrive synced folder C:\Cricket Matches.

This ensures all existing matches are transferred to a safe location.

2. Update the Match Folder Path in NV Play Cricket

  1. Open the NV Play Cricket for Windows application.
  2. Navigate to: Tools > Configuration > General > Match Folder.
  3. Click the Browse button and select the new folder created earlier (C:\Cricket Matches).
  4. Click OK to save the new location.

3. Remove the Old Documents Folder (if copied)

  1. Close the NV Play Cricket for Windows application.
  2. If the C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Cricket Matches folder was copied (not moved), delete the old folder.

4. Verify the New Match Folder

  1. Reopen the NV Play Cricket for Windows application.
  2. Navigate to: Tools > Configuration > General > Match Folder.
  3. Confirm the new Match Folder path is set correctly.

By ensuring the Match Folder is in a non-synced location, OneDrive syncing will no longer overwrite the video configuration files, allowing overlays to function properly.

Permanent Fix (Upcoming Release)

When the permanent fix is released, the Cricket Matches folder will remain in its current location. However:

  • Match data, video, and the _Media folder (for live streaming/replay screen assets) will remain unchanged.
  • Configuration files will be automatically moved to a local AppData folder to prevent OneDrive syncing interference.

Anti-Virus software may also be preventing live streaming score overlays from displaying. To ensure smooth operation, add NV Play Cricket for Windows to your Anti-Virus exclusions.
