This guide explains how to use the Wagon Wheel panel to record shot placement and generate player or team shot charts.

Scroll to the bottom of the page to view a video summary of the functions described in this guide.

Panel Overview

The Wagon Wheel panel (View > Scoring Entry > Wagon Wheel) contains a green circular graphic representing a 360 degree view of the cricket field. The stump line is represented by a white line near the centre of the circle.

The pitch graphic shows off side and leg side as text on either side of the pitch. These adjust automatically (swap positions) depending on whether the batter is recorded as left-handed in the database.

Before you begin scoring, rotate the Wagon Wheel using the slider at the bottom of the panel to match the pitch’s orientation from your scorebox location, with the stump line (the white line) at the end of the opening striker.

To enable player position tootips (showing player positions when you hover your mouse over different areas of the green pitch diagram), click the cog icon in the top-right corner of the panel and then tick Show Fielding Positions. To lock the batting and bowling ends on the graphic, click Lock Ends.

Recording Shots

To record where a shot went:

  1. Click a point on the green circle that best matches the batter's shot. For boundaries, click in the white space beyond the outfield.
  2. Record the number of runs on the Scoring panel.

Entries can be corrected later, if required, by using the Edit button on the Play Control panel.

Viewing and Printing

To review total team, batter- or bowler-specific Wagon Wheel entries, go to:

  • Team-wide combined wagon wheels for multiple matches: Statistics > Stats Wizard.
  • Batter-specific wagon wheel reports: Statistics > Batting > [Team] > [Player].
  • Bowler-specific wagon wheels: Statistics > Bowling > [Team] > [Player].

These reports can be:

  • Printed
  • Saved as a PDF
  • Emailed directly as a PDF

To access these options, click the down arrow on the Print button in the bottom-right corner:

To specify whether your printed reports display the outfield in green or as white/blank (to save ink):

  1. Go to Tools > Configuration. The Configuration dialogue opens.
  2. Click the Scoring tab.
  3. Tick the Print Full Colour Wagon Wheels box in the Scoring Options section to include the green outfield in the printed page, or leave unticked to display shots on a white or blank backround.
  4. Click OK to save and close.
