The Main Scoreboard Panel

The Main Scoreboard panel is typically located in the top-right corner of the NV Play Cricket for Windows interface when using a default Scoring view (View > Scoring - Default or View > Scoring - All Coding).

You can access various pre-designed layouts, such as batting card, bowling card, current partnership, toss details, and a blank display using the Settings cog icon (cog.png) located in the top-right corner of the panel. Clicking this icon opens the following menu:

The options available on this menu are:

  • Refresh all Scoreboards: Reloads all scoreboards on all screens with the latest score values.
  • Clear all Scoreboards: Clears all scoreboards on all screens.
  • Type: Selects a screen type. These are:
    • Small Screen: Displays less information in a larger font for better visibility.
    • Medium Screen: Default layout.
    • Medium Left/Right: Batters are displayed side-by-side instead of vertically.
    • Large Screen: Shows more information, with a blue lower banner that rotates content depending on match context.
    • Square, Ribbon, and Live Stream: Designed for specific use cases, particularly during video broadcasts.
  • Slide: Use this option to choose from the available slides. These slides will auto-rotate either once or continuously, with each slide shown for 30 seconds. We recommend that you primarily use the Main + Events layout, which keeps the scoreboard visible most of the time but automatically switches when events like wickets/fours/sixes or milestones occur.
  • Screen Settings: Use to customise the screen settings of a selected screen (layout, size, position, colour).
  • Screen Activation Settings: Use this button to configure screen Activations. These are media files that can be configured to play automatically on the scoreboard when a wicket, four or six are recorded.
  • Add Screen: External monitors and replay screens can be added using this option. Each screen can be customised as required (layout, size, position, colour).
  • New Ground Configuration: Use this option to create a new scoreboard configuration file. These files can be used in future for the same grounds, saved as backups, or emailed to others. These files are saved in .gcf format on your computer.
  • Open Ground Configuration: Use this option to open a previously-saved scoreboard configuration file.
  • Save As: Use this option to rename, overwrite or duplicate your current scoreboard configuration settings.
  • Google Cast: Use this option to stream the scoreboard to a Chromecast device on the same Wi-Fi network. Once a connection is established to the device, this menu item changes to a disconnect option.

Additional scoreboard settings can be found under Tools > Configuration > Scoreboard. The General Options section at the top of the dialogue includes the following scoreboard options:

  • Keep incoming player in same position as outgoing: Use this option to keep the not-out batter in the same position on the scoreboard when a wicket falls. If not ticked, the not-out batter moves to the top/left location and the new batter appears on the bottom/right.
  • Show outgoing batters until incoming confirmed: Use this option to show the outgoing batter's name on the scoreboard until the incoming player is confirmed. If not ticked, the outgoing batter's name is removed from the scoreboard until an incoming batter has been confirmed.
  • Blank output until play started/batters confirmed: This option prevents the scoreboard from displaying any information until the opening batters are selected, or play begins.
  • The lower sections of the dialogue (Output File 1, Output File 2, and Fixed Digit Scoreboard) are used for specifying external scoreboard integration settings.
