What is a Timed Out Dismissal?
A Timed Out dismissal occurs when a new batter fails to appear at the crease within the allotted time after the fall of a wicket.
Because of its rarity, this type of dismissal is not listed as a standard dismissal type in the Dismissal Type dropdown list on the Wicket dialogue.
Record a Timed Out Batter
This procedure assumes that you have just recorded a wicket as normal (e.g., by clicking the Wicket button on the Scoring panel, then choosing the primary fielder). The Confirm Batter dialogue then opens, waiting for confirmation of the incoming batter.
- If no batter arrives in time and they are declared Timed Out, click the Timed Out/Absent link in the bottom-left corner of the Confirm Batter dialogue. The Wicket dialogue box opens.
- Select the name of the player who was timed out.
- Choose Timed Out from the Dismissal Type dropdown list.
- Click OK. A second Confirm Batter dialogue opens.
- Select the player who will replace the timed out batter.
- Click OK. Continue scoring the match as normal.
