Connecting a Twitter Account

Before you can tweet match results, you must connect the NV Play Cricket software to an active Twitter/X account. We recommend that you use a club Twitter account rather than a personal one for broader reach and easier fan access.

Before you begin, log into the desired Twitter account in your browser on the same device you are using the NV Play Cricket software.

To configure the connection:

  1. Open the NV Play Cricket software.
  2. Go to Tools > Configuration. The Configuration dialogue opens.
  3. Click the Social tab.
  4. Click the Connect to Twitter button at the top of the dialogue. A browser window opens with a Twitter/X authorisation screen. At the same time, a Connect to Twitter dialogue opens in the NV Play Cricket software.
  5. Click Authorise App in the browser window. Twitter/X will now generate a PIN code.
  6. Copy the PIN code or note it down.
  7. Return to the NV Play Cricket software and paste the code into the PIN Code field on the Connect to Twitter dialogue.
  8. Click OK. Once connected, the account's Twitter/X handle will be shown, confirming the link. The Twitter/X icon will also appear in the status bar to indicate an active connection.

Managing the Twitter/X Connection

You can log out or switch Twitter/X accounts in your browser after the connection is made. The link remains active until you manually change or cancel it.

To switch accounts:

  1. Log in to the new Twitter/X account in the browser.
  2. In NV Play Cricket, go to Tools > Configuration. The Configuration dialogue opens.
  3. Click the Social tab.
  4. Click the Change Twitter User button at the top of the dialogue.
  5. Repeat the authorisation and PIN code process described above.

To disconnect your Twitter/X account:

  1. In NV Play Cricket, go to Tools > Configuration. The Configuration dialogue opens.
  2. Click the Social tab.
  3. Click the Change Twitter User button at the top of the dialogue.
  4. Click Cancel without entering a new PIN.
  5. Click OK.
