Reasons to Change Wicketkeeper

You might need to change the nominated wicketkeeper for the entire match if the wrong player was selected during match setup, or for part of the match if a team chooses to use multiple wicketkeepers during a match.

If more than one keeper is used by a team, both should be named, and dismissals and extras should be credited to the correct keeper at the time they occur.

Changing the Wicketkeeper

To change the wicketkeeper:

  1. Go to Scoring > Match Details/Teams. The Edit Match dialogue opens.
  2. Open the Wicketkeeper dropdown box under the relevant team and select a different player. The Substitute Wicketkeeper prompt opens.
  3. Select an option from the prompt:
    • Replace for Match: Use this when the wrong person was selected during the match setup. The replacement becomes wicketkeeper for the entire match.
    • Substitute Existing Wicketkeeper: Use this when a wicketkeeper is being replaced during play. Both the previous and replacement wicketkeeper names will appear in the Wicketkeeper dropdown field. After replacement, all dismissals and extras will be attributed to the new keeper.
    • Cancel: Close the dialogue without replacing the current wicketkeeper.
  4. Click Save on the Edit Match dialogue to save and close. A note is automatically added to the Innings Notes panel logging the change.

Viewing and Editing Wicketkeeper Substitutions

To view or amend keeper changes:

  1. Go to Scoring > Match Details/Teams. The Edit Match dialogue opens.
  2. Click the Player/Roles Substitutions link in the bottom-left corner of the dialogue. The Player/Role Substitutions dialogue opens, showing a list of all substitutions made during the match.
  3. From here you can:
    • Change a substitution type by clicking text under the Change Type column to open a dropdown menu and then choosing a different substitution option.
    • Remove a substitution by selecting a row with your mouse and then clicking the Delete button.
  4. Click OK to close the Player/Role Substitutions dialogue, and then click Save to close the Edit Match dialogue. Any associated innings notes will be updated or removed to match your change.
