This guide explains how to insert a delivery mid-over or add a delivery to the end of an over using the Edit mode in NV Play Cricket for Windows.

Inserting a Delivery Mid-Over

To insert a delivery mid-over:

  1. Click the Edit button on the Play Control panel (View > Scoring Entry > Play Control) to enter Edit mode. The Edit button turns yellow.
  2. Click the delivery you want to insert a ball before on the Ball by Ball panel, or select it from the Over/Ball dropdowns on the Play Control panel.
  3. Click the Edit Over/Ball button on the Play Control panel. A menu opens.
  4. Click Insert Ball (Before) from the menu. A new delivery is added above the selected ball on the Ball by Ball panel, showing zero runs on the Scoring panel (0 runs button highlighted in yellow).
  5. Click the new ball's runs or extras on the Scoring panel (if not a dot ball). A Wicket can also be recorded on the inserted delivery, if the batter hasn't been dismissed on a later delivery.
  6. Click the yellow Edit button on the Play Control panel to return to normal scoring mode.

Alternatively:

  1. Click the Edit button on the Play Control panel (View > Scoring Entry > Play Control) to enter Edit mode. The Edit button turns yellow.
  2. Right-click on the delivery you want to insert a ball before on the Ball by Ball panel. A menu opens.
  3. Click Insert Ball (Before) from the menu. A new delivery is added above the selected ball on the Ball by Ball panel, showing zero runs on the Scoring panel (0 runs button highlighted in yellow).
  4. Click the new ball's runs or extras on the Scoring panel (if not a dot ball).
  5. Click the yellow Edit button on the Play Control panel to return to normal scoring mode.

Adding a Delivery at the End of an Over

To add a delivery at the end of an over:

  1. Click the Edit button on the Play Control panel (View > Scoring Entry > Play Control) to enter Edit mode. The Edit button turns yellow.
  2. Click the Edit Over/Ball button on the Play Control panel. A menu opens.
  3. Click Add Ball (to End) from the menu. A new ball is added as the last delivery of the over, showing zero runs on the Scoring panel (0 runs button highlighted in yellow).
  4. Click the new ball's runs or extras on the Scoring panel (if not a dot ball).
  5. Click the yellow Edit button on the Play Control panel to return to normal scoring mode.

Alternatively:

  1. Click the Edit button on the Play Control panel (View > Scoring Entry > Play Control) to enter Edit mode. The Edit button turns yellow.
  2. Right-click on any delivery in the Ball by Ball panel. A menu opens.
  3. Click Insert Ball (to End) from the menu. A new ball is added as the last delivery of the over, showing zero runs on the Scoring panel (0 runs button highlighted in yellow).
  4. Click the new ball's runs or extras on the Scoring panel (if not a dot ball).
  5. Click the yellow Edit button on the Play Control panel to return to normal scoring mode.
