Overview

You must record the toss, and the playing decisions made by the winners of the toss (or the starting team, if the toss is uncontested), before scoring can begin.

All required actions are highlighted by a yellow border around the Record Toss button on the Play Control panel.

Recording the Toss

To record the toss before a match:

  1. Click the Record Toss button (highlighted in yellow) on the Play Control panel. The Toss Details dialogue opens.

  2. Select the team that won the toss (or that will bat or bowl first if the toss was uncontested) using the radio buttons at the top of the dialogue, and the toss decision (whether the winner has chosen to bat or bowl first) using the radio buttons at the bottom.

  3. Tick the Uncontested box if no toss occurred (e.g. due to a default decision).
  4. Tick the Create First Innings box if play will begin immediately after the toss. This automatically prepares the system to begin scoring. If this box isn't ticked, you’ll need to click an extra button later to create the innings manually.
  5. Click Save to finalise the toss and close the Toss Details dialogue. The Record Toss button on the Play Control panel changes to a Start Play button if the Create First Innings box was ticked, or to Create Innings if the box wasn't ticked.

Change the Toss

To edit the toss before or during a match:

  1. Go to Scoring > Toss Details. The Toss Details dialogue opens.
  2. Edit the toss details and then click Save. If the toss result is changed after play starts, the software adjusts the toss decision to match the team currently batting.
